The best massage guns make the perfect pocket-friendly substitute for a private masseuse, so it's no surprise they've taken the wellness scene by storm in recent years and are still going strong.

But because its handle is so short and doesn’t reach down the length of the back, you’d need to switch positions (and possibly hands) for massaging the lower back and tip of the spine.

If you’re a professional or recreational athlete, these weaknesses may be pretty glaring. Even a CrossFit devotee or amateur powerlifter would probably be happier with one of the Theragun or Hyperice models.

We did not find this to be the case. After we completed testing, we left the cordless massagers powered on, and even after two hours, they all held their charge. The Mighty Bliss kept going strong after four hours.

Choose a model that comes with multiple massage heads, from the standard ball head for bigger muscle groups to cone, wedge and thumb heads for working on smaller and more sensitive areas.
